Bridalveil Fall, with its dramatic 600-foot plunge from the «Hanging Valley,» serves as Yosemite Valley’s awe-inspiring gateway. Despite its iconic status, the area’s facilities had become overcrowded and unsafe, desperately needing an upgrade. Enter an ambitious renovation project, balancing ecological preservation with visitor experience. New accessible trails, expanded overlooks, and modern amenities now welcome park-goers.
The makeover included smart redesigns of parking and roads, preservation of historic bridges, and the addition of interpretive signs and seasonal boardwalks. Led by John Northmore Roberts & Associates, as Prime Consultant since 2015, in collaboration with NPS and Yosemite Conservancy, this comprehensive project transformed Bridalveil Fall from a worn-out landmark to a rejuvenated natural wonder. With the NPS Trails Crew handling path construction, the area reopened in early 2024, offering visitors an unforgettable experience that honors both nature and accessibility
