On the beautiful Central Coast of Chile, Matanzas stands, an enclave that masterfully fuses the wind and the sea. A short distance from Santiago, this destination has established itself as the favorite paradise for kitesurfing, surfing and nature lovers, recently experiencing a notable increase in its population and tourist influx.
The project, conceived by visionary client Raimundo Alcalde, aspires to establish a harmonious balance between urban development and the preservation of the natural environment. The proposal contemplates the creation of an innovative ecological platform that integrates environmental restoration and water purification, while offering spaces for new residences and tourism development.
In collaboration with 123cua Architects and Luz María Aspillaga, we have designed a subdivision strategy that guarantees the financial viability of the project through the initial commercialization of two lots, thus allowing the subsequent sustainable development of the remaining area. The Master Plan is structured into two differentiated zones: an area dedicated to conservation, restoration and agricultural production in the interior ravine, and another for real estate development in the elevated area, which offers panoramic views of the sea.
The project incorporates an advanced water treatment and irrigation system for native and fruit trees, complemented by a network of roads and trails that harmoniously integrate with the topography of the land. Among the proposed facilities are an Agro-ecology School and Kids-Camp, recreation areas with a bicycle track, an Event Center at the top of the land and accommodation for visitors, in addition to areas designated for real estate development.
Unfortunately, due to new economic proposals, the project was stopped in its initial phase, with only the architectural plans of the cabins being completed. However, this comprehensive vision of sustainable development and ecotourism continues to represent an innovative model for the future of Matanzas and the region.
